My client is a leading international mechanical and electrical sub contractor who are currently working on a major industrial project in the UK and are looking to recruit an experienced mechanical technician for the following.
Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and repair mechanical systems and equipment on-site, including HVAC, plumbing, and machinery.
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical issues efficiently, utilizing technical knowledge and tools.
- Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance on mechanical systems to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety standards.
- Work closely with other site technicians, engineers, and contractors to coordinate tasks and optimise workflow.
- Prepare and submit detailed reports on maintenance activities, equipment performance, and potential improvements to management.
- Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Qualifications:
- NVQ/SVQ Level 2 or 3 in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent is often preferred.
- Relevant certifications, such as City & Guilds or equivalent qualifications in mechanical systems and maintenance.
- Previous experience in mechanical maintenance or installation roles, preferably in a site or industrial environment.
- Experience with specific equipment or systems relevant to the industry (e.g., HVAC, plumbing, machinery).
